淄柴L230系列双燃料发动机是在L230柴油机的基础上，根据气体燃料的要求设计的新型油气双电控LNG柴油双燃料发动机，采用油气双电控关键技术，采用改变了传统双燃料机以纯柴油模式为主，掺烧双燃料为辅的工作模式，可分别在纯柴油模式或双燃料模式独立工作。采用电控供油方式，以电子控制单元（ECU）同时控制调节柴油喷射和天然气喷射，实现了纯柴油模式全负荷点的map标定，优化了不同负荷下的柴油燃烧，实现了双燃料模式燃油和燃气供给时刻及供给量可调，优化了发动机全工况的燃烧。油气双控双燃料发动机综合替代率提高至80%以上，替代率可达到90%。船舶常用工况多为低速大扭矩，双燃料模式下能够满足低负荷加气需求，低负荷工况下10%负荷点可以进入双燃料模式，替代率40%以上；排放指标满足GB15097-2016《船舶发动机排气污染物排放限制及测量方法（第一、二阶段）》标准规范的第二阶段要求。
